Itinerary

DAY ONE                                                            D    

This morning, we make our way to the seaside town of Whangamata, where the group will split into two. One group will enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of Coromandel Chocolate, learning about the chocolate-making process from bean to bar. Watch as they roast, grind, temper, and mould the chocolate using traditional techniques, then finish with a tasting of their signature creations. The other group can explore Whangamata and enjoy a relaxing morning tea before swapping activities. Next, we travel to Whitianga for lunch, followed by a Glass Bottom Boat Tour to Cathedral Cove, offering stunning views of the coastline as well as the vibrant underwater world. In the evening, we unwind at The Lost Springs, an adult only, serene thermal sanctuary surrounded by lush gardens. We enjoy a relaxing dip in the natural hot springs and a delicious dinner in their tranquil restaurant.   

DAY TWO                                                            B, L 

After a leisurely breakfast in your room, we farewell Whitianga and head to the Driving Creek Railway for a scenic train tour through Coromandel’s lush landscape. The journey takes you through native bush, over viaducts, and along steep hillsides, offering stunning panoramic views. At the top of the track, enjoy breathtaking views of Coromandel Town and the Pacific Ocean. Afterward, explore the charming Coromandel Township before heading to Pepper Tree Restaurant and Bar for lunch. Our next stop is the beautiful Pepper Tree Garden and Nursery in Thames, a 5-acre property nestled between the Kauaeranga River and surrounding hills. The private garden showcases a stunning collection of Japanese maples, irises, and other plant species thriving in its diverse landscapes. Then sit back and relax as we return to Tauranga, taking in the picturesque countryside along the way.
