DAY ONE L, D

Let's start our tour by being driven by bus to Otorohanga and board the Northern Explorer Train travelling to Ohakune Station via the Raurimu Spiral and spectacular viaducts, hopefully enjoying the snowy peaks of Tongariro & Ruapehu. Whilst travelling in the train we'll enjoy a lunch, all the time taking in the fabulous views of our amazing back yard. Once we arrive in Ohakune we will collect you and drive to the magnificent Turoa side of Mt Ruapehu. From here we'll continue to our accommodation for the night, The Powderhorn Chateau located at the base of Mt Ruapehu, a lovely and inviting destination offering The Powderhorn Chateau welcomes guests to enjoy their warm hospitality in a unique environment; an experience that exceeds expectations. Prior to dinner we'll enjoy a presentation of the new No.8 Tour schedule, before reconvening for Happy Hour and continuing on to enjoy a meal in the Hotels warm atmospheric restaurant Powderkeg.

DAY TWO  B, L 

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel restaurant before gathering at reception to board our vehicle. We’ll journey through the picturesque Ohakune Mountain Road, making our way to the top of Turoa Skifield, where breathtaking views of the towering Mt Ruapehu will greet you. Along the way, we’ll stop for a morning tea at the Mess Tent Café, offering a cozy atmosphere, this is located at the National Army Museum. While we are here, we’ll enjoy an introduction talk and take the opportunity to view the Museum. All of which will deepen your appreciation of New Zealand’s military history. Our next destination for a delicious lunch is Oreti Restaurant, nestled in the charming Oreti Village at Pūkawa. As the afternoon approaches, we’ll enjoy a scenic River Cruise on Huka Falls. We’ll then continue on our merry homeward bound filled with fond memories of our experience.
