Enjoy a catered lunch at the Fat Owl Café in Piopio, offering delicious fare and warm hospitality. Our journey will continue to The Christmas Village in New Plymouth, a magical wonderland filled with sparkling decorations and holiday treasures, perfect for getting into the Christmas mood. Later, we’ll check into The Devon Hotel, where you’ll be welcomed with festive charm and comfort. End the day with a sumptuous buffet dinner and drinks at Marbles Restaurant, a perfect setting to relax and enjoy the holiday ambiance for your stay.

DAY TWO                                       B, L, D 

Start your day with a delicious buffet breakfast at Marbles Restaurant before boarding the bus for an exciting day of exploration. Our first stop is the Hillsborough Car Museum. A stunning new facility purposely built for the preservation and display of a private collection of Australian Holden cars and memorabilia, includes a mini golf course and a luge ride. Morning tea follows at the charming Pikopiko Eatery, offering a perfect chance to relax. Next, we visit BeGin Distilling in New Plymouth for the Juno Gin Taster Tour, featuring a fascinating talk and gin tasting. The afternoon is yours to enjoy, you may enjoy wandering the shops, exploring the Puke Ariki Museum & Galleries or visiting the stunning Len Lye Centre and Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, the choice is yours. Wrap up your day with a sumptuous buffet dinner and drinks at Marbles Restaurant, located onsite at The Devon Hotel, where you can unwind and reflect on a memorable day.

DAY THREE    Christmas Day      B, L, D 

Celebrate Christmas Day with a relaxed start, enjoying a leisurely sleep-in followed by a festive buffet breakfast at Marbles Restaurant. After breakfast, we’ll take a scenic drive to the waterfront for a peaceful stroll, soaking in the holiday spirit by the sea. Back at the hotel, the excitement before a cheerful get-together before lunch. A sumptuous Christmas lunch awaits at Marbles Restaurant, offering delicious seasonal fare. Spend the afternoon unwinding and enjoying the festive ambiance. In the evening, a light dinner is served onsite, setting the stage for a magical finale. As night falls, we’ll visit the enchanting Festival of Lights at Pukekura Park, where dazzling displays and holiday cheer create a perfect ending to a wonderful Christmas Day.

DAY FOUR    Boxing Day             B, L, D

Enjoy a leisurely Boxing Day with a sleep-in and buffet breakfast at Marbles Restaurant. Afterward, meet at reception to begin the day’s adventures. Our first stop is the Glockenspiel Clock Tower, where you’ll witness its charming 5-minute performance after the hour chimes. Morning tea follows Taranaki Pioneer Village, featuring a delightful train ride around the historic village and a picnic by the lake. Next, we take a scenic drive around Mt. Egmont via Opunake Road, arriving at the Rainforest Eatery in Pukeiti Gardens. Here, you can choose from delicious cabinet food and drinks before exploring the beautiful gardens at your own pace. Later, visit the historic Hurworth Cottage for a step back in time. Return to the Devon Hotel to relax and enjoy dinner at Marbles Restaurant. End the day with an optional visit to Pukekura Park’s enchanting Festival of Lights, a perfect Boxing Day finale.

Don’t miss the Whalers & Traders ride, offering an immersive experience of the region's past. Our first stop is the fascinating Manutahi Museum, showcasing a taxidermy collection that captures the natural history of past and present. Next, we pause for morning tea at the cozy Tawa Glen Café on Mountain Road, a delightful spot to relax. From here, we visit Waiongana Gardens, where an introduction talk sets the scene for a serene self-guided tour through this beautiful property. Take in the lush greenery and tranquil surroundings before we continue northward. Lunch awaits at the historic Awakino Hotel and Pub, offering hearty meals and friendly hospitality. On the way back, we’ll make a brief stop in Otorohanga for a stretch and perhaps a quick wander before completing our journey to Tauranga.
